Essence Restaurant + Bar

The popular Essence Restaurant + Bar, a chic, fine dining establishment in Elkhart, was once the home of a bakery/cafe and gift shop. The new owners partnered with Endeavour Construction, alongside designer JJ Osterloo, to reimagine the space and bring the sophisticated concept to life. The remodel touched nearly every surface, including new walls, bulkheads, ceilings, and floors (carpeting in the dining area and epoxy flooring in the kitchen). Custom quartz countertops were added in the service areas, back bar, and restrooms. A lighted, quartzite-topped bar serves as the centerpiece of the space. In the dining room, the original stone fireplace was preserved and restyled to anchor the redesigned area. Glass storefront doors define the entrance to the new wine room and banquet room. The transformation of this space - from bakery and gift shop to the unparalleled dining destination that is Essence Restaurant + Bar - reflects Endeavour Construction’s ability to reinvent a space while honoring its roots.
